I have been a fan of Joey and Rory Feek since I first discovered their music a few years ago. Unfortunately, it was during Joey's illness and death. After reading thus book, I am impressed with Rory' s heartfelt tales of the events of his life which have brought him to the present. I was deeply touched by his love for his daughters' varied lifestyles. I have an even greater admiration for Rory and his family after reading this book. This is a flawed human who has come to an understanding of the importance of his faith and the strong bond of unconditional love for his family.
I really needed to read this today and not only is Rory a great writer, the content was refreshingly real. We all have challenges in life and Rory shares the roadmap that he has followed to get through his particular setbacks. I love learning through the stories and this book is filled with good stories.
I am in awe of this man and his talents. He pulled me into his life with his words and style. I could not wait to get to the next chapter. . .
This book tells a story of a remarkable family, who have drawn their strength from many sources. Extended family has surely played a big part in helping to give solace at the worst of times, and they are all there to help each other through. But, knowing Joey will never be truly gone..her memories will carry them through all the difficult times, and God & His Love is always on the throne! May He continue to lift them up on the more "trying days"! We (her fans) also feel the "void", but pray for "healing & peace" for every family member & close friends!
This story brings so much hope to a very difficult time in many lives. It has opened my heary to allow God to guide my feelibgs and life and to look around and see all the blessings Hes given. God has His plans for us.
Have enjoyed both of his books. Enjoy may not be the right word as the sadness and pain from the loss of his wife, Joey, still is evident. He is a gifted writer, a strong man and I wish he and his little daughter only the best on their adventures. Keep writing, Rory! Music, blogs and books - you offer hope and grit to all who read you.
