The story and characters seemed trite and pedestrian to me. Perhaps the translation was poor; in any case, I was too bored to finish it, which is rare for me.
Interesting novel about 17th century development of Delft china. Heroine has some tense adventures, dealing with men and the plague.
I love Delft pottery, and enjoyed reading this book. Sad story that turned out happy.
Overuse of coincidence. Haven't finished it yet--not one of those real page-turners.
Very enjoyable read. Faithful to historical facts. Written well

Great insight into historical Holland with believable characters.
I loved this book! The cover is beautiful, the story was great and I found it hard to put down. I love Delft Blue pottery and really enjoyed reading about how it all started!
