I've read about a third so far. I thought it would be chapters- it's not. Each page is a lesson, then on the backside is an inspiring quote, thought provoking question(s) and another book to research and learn more about . I'm glad I bought it. I wasn't clear on the age profile. It's more late middle school and into high school. I can read this with my 11 year old, but he would not be into researching more. It has a lot of good ideas and points and the differences between the general public- how they spend much of their lives thinking/wasting time about comfort and what they'd rather be doing- watching TV, gaming, facebook etc. Where millionaires never stop learning, researching and being the best they can. How to choose and offer services people want and will pay for etc. To remain humble. I am enjoying it but will wait to introduce this book for another year or 2. Not to be sexist- but it is def written from a man's perspective! Like the chapter/page on how to choose a mate and what to look for in a supporting wife. A few sentences were pretty blatant. And haven't seen much mention of female millionaires. Hopefully that will change with a revised edition in the future when more girls set out to make their mark!
I read an article on CNBC newsfeed by Siebold and I got a very different impression of what this book would be like. I bought it hoping for some insights to share with my tween and teen grandchildren. Siebold pits the successful money makers against the mediocre masses no less than 140 times. All the numerous chapters are a simple structure of tips, quotes, action to take and a book to read. Though advertised that he interviewed over 1200 successful millionaires or some such the book doesn't directly refer to any interviews. It reads like a motivational short spurt speech.There are some good superficial tips within all the repetitive traditional rap, if you like this sort of pump you up style, I would have preferred more depth. I would never intentionally buy another Siebold book one was more than enough.
The review is like the book. This book is made for the current generation; quick, focused and to the point. "Secrets Self-Made Millionaires Teach Their Kids" is a great primmer of time-tested ideologies and ethics of the wealthy, broken down into bite-sized nuggets ripe for accepting minds. Don’t let the title fool you, this is SO much more than a how-to book on financial wealth; it’s a pathway to a successful, responsible and fulfilled life. Thank you Mr. Siebold.
I bought this book for my 11 year old son and have been reading it to him at night. There are other books out there to help teach kids about the importance of saving money and finances, but this book teaches how to think about money. The author does a wonderful job at opening up a discussion about money. I also like that it explains how money is important, but so is hard work and keeping good values. It is written in a very organized way and with numerous short chapters that make it easy to stop and talk to you child about the topic you've just read. I find this book an invaluable resource for any parent who wishes for success for their child's future. A+
Absolutely LOVE this book!! It has impacted myself and my three nephews so much! They ask their parents to read it to them now!! Each chapter is rich with tools you can implement immediately. There are resources and critical thinking questions which I ask myself and the and the kids. Their answers are incredible! I have started having them write down their answers and look at it later!! I have seen such a positive impact in their self esteem and overall confidence already! It would be a total disservice to not read this to your child!! Steve Siebold is a genius and such an asset to the future of our society! Thank you Steve!
I’m about 40 pages into this book, and I’m so distracted by all of the grammatical errors, punctuation mistakes, and missing quote attributions! The author adds random commas where they don’t belong, misuses “they’re†and “theirâ€, fails to tell us who spoke the words of wisdom he quotes at least a quarter of the time, and even doubles words in sentences. It’s strikingly obvious that the author wrote this book super fast off the top of his head, and didn’t bother to proofread it so he could get it to market quickly and continue to pad his own wealth. I was expecting anecdotes and advice from some of the 1200 self-made wealthy individuals he claims to have interviewed. So far I’ve seen none, and the book reads in a very paternalistic and condescending tone. That’s not to say there isn’t valuable advice in the book; there is, hence the second star. I will finish reading it, fully anticipating more cringe-worthy errors, but my respect level for the author is pretty low. He obviously doesn’t care enough about his audience to provide a polished, finished product worthy of the high cover price. After a few pages I looked to see if the book was self published, and it’s not. The publisher, London House, should be equally ashamed!

Love how it's broken up in short chapters with action steps, quotes, and a questions at the end. Not too much info, not too little. Easy read with kids and good, honest information that they aren't going to learn unless you teach them.
